Form5 Prosthetics is committed to producing sustainable, eco-friendly, and affordable prosthetics for individuals with limb differences. To stay true to that commitment, we continue to explore ways to collect plastic waste. Once the waste is collected, it goes through our proprietary recycling process, which consists of shredding and extruding the plastic before using it to 3D print the devices. With a new goal of becoming an entirley zero-waste organization by 2024, Form5 has some exciting work to share on this front this year!
Our collection efforts have temporarily been suspended, we encourage you to support other initiatives in the community, such as:
TerraCycle: A recycling business that operates a volunteer-based recycling platform to collect non-recyclable pre-consumer and post-consumer waste, and then partners with corporate donors and municipalities to turn it into raw material that can be used in new products. An example of one location listed on their website is Byers Airport Subaru at 401 N. Hamilton Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43213: https://www.terracycle.com/en-US
